Uncle Albert Holt received an honorary doctorate from the World Indigenous Nations University. Representatives from the World Indigenous Nations University in Norway were on hand at the school to conduct the ceremony amid singing and dancing performed by local children or jarjums in indigenous language.

On Thursday, July 27, 2017, Six Nations Polytechnic was given 10-year organizational accreditation by the
World Indigenous Nations Higher Education Consortium. A formal presentation took place during the
World Indigenous Peoples Conference on Education.
