What does our service provide?
COOEE advocates, educates and provides appropriate cultural support in education, housing, justice and health. Providing a holistic service by addressing education and the emotional well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people and families.
COOEE provides a culturally safe space in community.
Our work is centered around prevention, intervention and deterrence.
Cultural Responsibility
Meaningful Work, Unforgettable Experiences
Creating a safe non-judgmental space,
to promote resilience and improve the physical and emotional
well-being of each individual.
COOEE Staff and Elders work in collaboration with a number of partner organizations. We view education and educational attainment as a viable way of dealing with the social concerns emerging among a significant percentage of Indigenous young people and families in the Wynnum, Redlands and surrounding Bay Islands.
Doing what is right
Education and Outreach
Strengthening cultural education and connections through the priceless lessons and knowledge of our Elders. Building cultural values through expressions of art, music, yarning, walkabout and dance.
Doing What’s Needed
Advocacy and Support Services
We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our partners are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. We are invested in an innovative approach that empowers our community and delivers the support they need, when they need it.
